China Virus Paperback Cover copy.jpg

As frigid winter winds blew over China's capital, Beijing, a hot conflict intensified within the Communist Party. The China Virus is a novel of international mystery and espionage set in Beijing in the mid-1980s revolving around the struggle over China's future: Maoist or capitalist.

This novel is a fictional consideration in form of a murder mystery that could have gone wrong during that transition. It involves the unique pairing of a young American computer whizz and a young Chinese martial arts master, who might be more than a simple Chinese traditional medicine student. Their adventure allows the reader to experience China before its contemporary "great leap forward."

The author is a former "foreign expert" who worked in the Beijing publishing industry during the time this novel takes place. While most of the settings are accurately portrayed, the main characters are completely fictional - a product most likely of too many cold winter nights in Beijing.
