Seems I've been cycling all my life, as I can't remember a time when I was without two wheels.
Cycling to Nirvana
When I lived in Taiwan, I used to cycle the mountains and visit Buddhist monasteries.
Raleigh Super Course
This was my first ten-speed bike bought in Taiwan from fellow students when I first arrived in August, 1971 to continue my study of Chinese language.
Conquering Mountains!
My trusty Raleigh up at mountain park outside of Taipei. Helmets weren't common in those days!
Custom Bob Jackson
My frist and only (to date) "custom" bike - a Bob Jackson steel road bike. Unfortunately, "Bob" sized the bike incorrectly - note the very low saddle height! Nonetheless, it rode great!
"Bob" and I
"Bob" and I lost somewhere along the coast of Taiwan!
Guerciotti - circa 1976
Guerciotti steel road bike - circa 1976. My Italian beauty! Bought the frame new and built up the bike.
Nishiki Mountain Bike
Tried some off road riding in Taiwan with a Nishiki mountain bike - again, bought the frame and built the bike.
Nishiki for the Road
Also rode the Nishiki on the road, great for steep Taiwan mountain roads.
Nishiki Ti
Upgraded the mountain bike experience with a titanium version of a Nishiki mountain bike, set up for road bike riding.
Kestrel Evoke SL
Finally made it to carbon fiber with this complete bike, a Kestrel Evoke. Smooth, agile handling. My present ride.
Winter is Coming!
Ready for New England cycling.
Winter?
But in Taiwan, what's winter? Cycling weather to dance on those pedals!
Honeymoon Transportation
When we got married in Taiwan, I had a hand-built steel tandem ready - quite an experience - fork used to bend forward and up!!!!
Motobecane Tandem
Bought new in New York - at that time, whole family on board. Later, shipped to Taiwan but not ridden very much due to traffic conditions.
The Green Dragon!
A Trek steel tandem that was given to me! I fixed it up and it has severed us well - many miles of pleasant New England rides.
